Estes Park Vacation August 2013

We decided to take a last minute trip up to Estes Park before school began.  We rented a  cabin and spent 3 nights up there.  It was a GREAT get away!

These pictures are of the area just behind our cabin. Wayne is the little dot there on the mountain.

 Our first night out to dinner...At Mama Rose's.  It had an awesome atmosphere, but the food left much to be desired. 

After Dinner, we walked around Estes Park and visited many of the shops.

Our first hike was to Cub Falls.   Here was a deer that we saw as we started out on that hike.  We looked at each other for quite some time!   It was a difficult hike for me because I had accidentally taken my night time pills in the morning.  I was a little fuzzy--okay, a lot fuzzy.

After our hike, we went back into town and walked around some more.  We went back to our cabin and sat in the hot tub and played some board games.

 On Saturday, we decided to STOP at the sign and have our picture taken.  It was a BEAUTIFUL day.

 We continued up to Bear Lake and started our hike.  The first lake we arrived at was called Nymph Lake.  The lily pads were very pretty!

 It felt as though the hike went UP nonstop!

 And of course, Chris had to climb up on every rock :)

 We kept on hiking...yep...UPHILL.

 We ended up walking over 7 miles on the hike.  We then went into Estes Park and had a late lunch.  We then walked some more through some more shops.  We went back to our Cabin and watched a couple of movies and sat in the hot tub trying to recover. We returned on Sunday...ready to rest up from our vacation.
